Vinyl - Bohème - Mother of Creation

Bohème is the alternative ambient neoclassical project of Tony Roberts, an Italian-born singer-songwriter and producer now based in London. My musical journey began at the tender age of six when I was exposed to Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, it was the “eureka moment”. This early spark led me to write music and lyrics, and by my teens, I started singing and playing in rock bands performing both originals and covers.
Growing up, I immersed myself in a diverse range of music, Radiohead to Nirvana, from Pink Floyd, Queen and prog rock to Metallica, passing by Chet Baker, Al Jarreau, Stevie Wonder and George Micheal. This eclectic mix became the 'gravitational force' that ultimately gave birth to Bohème. Combining a powerful yet intimate voice with cinematic soundscapes Bohème draws inspiration from these lifelong influences alongside more contemporary artists like Sohn, Agnes Obel, Olafur Arnalds, Nils Frahm, Jacob Collier and Gregory Porter.
I continued to develop my vocal skills studying with prominent vocal coaches both in Italy and in London.

Starting out in London's alternative music scene in the early 2010s, Bohème quickly gained a loyal following. They impressed critics with their live shows at iconic venues like Proud Camden and Troubadour, and even made it to the finals of a competition called "The Next Big Thing." Their debut album "Satiety" came out in 2010, followed by the EP "Modern Age Prophets" in 2014, both featuring collaborations with well-known rock and jazz musicians and receiving positive feedback.
Bohème's evocative songwriting generates from the ashes of Operatic Art rock, Symbolist Poetry and Ambient Electronica. Their music, permeated with decadent and exotic visions, is a journey through a multitude of musical languages.

My current mission is to cultivate a powerful online presence and connect with listeners who not only appreciate high-quality music and sonic perfection (being myself both an audiophile and an audio engineer/producer), but also filmmakers seeking potential soundtrack additions. With the release of my EP, "Mother of Creation," on the horizon this year, I'm eager to explore the best promotional strategies for independent artists in 2024's ever-changing music industry.
